Performance

We want Cinder to scale with your operations. Cinder was initially built to handle a single entity with a single decision at a time which is very different from how it is being used today.
We’ve reduced the amount of time decision creation takes by 92%! For our customers doing bulk table-based reviews, you can now comfortably submit thousands at a time.
  • We’ve made improvements in retrieval of job data to drastically speed up load times of jobs
  • All in all, Cinder should feel faster and snappier for day-to-day operations

NCMEC

We are continuing to invest in our partnership with NCMEC and improving our first party integration.
  • We’ve overhauled our NCMEC submitted reports area to improve readability and usability
  • NCMEC Reported Person/User IP Capture Event: As part of the workflow automation rule to Create NCMEC report, you can now specify the related entity and attributes necessary to forward details about the reported person’s IP
  • Added support for relationships for the Phone number NCMEC field
  • Added the ability to append multiple attributes in additionalInfo in a NCMEC report
  • Added the ability to select dictionary fields for a additionalInfo
  • Added the ability to manually resend NCMEC reports
  • Improved error handling and notifications around NCMEC submission failures

QA

Last quarter we rolled out grade the grader and benchmark grading. We’re continuing to respond to feedback and improve QA.
  • Added a Violation accuracy dashboard. This helps monitor your operations ability to detect violating content as a whole and doesn’t take into account policy accuracy. This is a useful lens to look at operational efficiency in addition to the existing policy accuracy view
  • Fixed an issue with calculating the aggregate QA average accuracy
  • Fixed an issue where metrics values with no data would render as blank instead of 0 or --
  • Fixed group permissioning on QA queues
  • Fixed an issue where long policies lists were not scrollable
  • QA Metrics Viewers now have access to the all decisions view in QA
  • Removed the 100% sampling constraint limit so you can schedule a sample for more decisions than are currently available

Keyword Stores

  • Keywords now support multi-match across highlighting and workflows. This means that all words specified in a comma separated list must be present in an attribute to be considered true, regardless of order. This can be helpful to catch certain types of harm where the inclusion of multiple words is important where individually they wouldn’t be an issue
  • We’ve upgraded our Regex engine to use re2 for improved performance at scale
  • Improved the keyword test tool to better handle errors

Queue Settings

We spent some time cleaning up and getting organized to better represent the features available to you when configuring Cinder.
  • Revised the layout, organization, and help text of our Queue Settings page
  • Added a default display mode (table or grid) can now be set in Renderer Settings
  • Added the ability to enable or disable attribute level labeling at the queue level
We are still working through migrating to our new renderers that support keyword highlighting and translation. If you need assistance with enabling attribute level labeling, please reach out.

Other Fixes and Improvements

  • Fixed an issue with search results rendered incorrectly in Firefox
  • Fixed an issue where relationship columns could not be removed when modifying table configurations
  • Fixed an issue where table filters could become duplicated leading to inconsistent filtering results
  • Added validation when unpublishing policies to prevent breaking workflows that reference those policies
  • Fixed an issue where archived policies would still display in the enforcement actions area
  • Fixed an issue where workflows conditions and actions would display unpublished policies
  • Visibility of metrics data in the metrics dashboard is now filtered by group membership for Metrics Analysts
  • Fixed an issue where too many metrics filters could crash the page
  • Corrects a rare issue where point assignment triggers could be inconsistently applied when multiple levels of the policy tree contained point assignments
  • Improved translation for strings over 4000 characters that would previously fail
  • Fixed an issue where typing notes was slow to register
  • Fixed an issue where clicking the “New version available” button could render a blank page
  • Fixed an issue where certain conditions could prevent saving a queue level default sort
  • Added the ability to display audio wave forms for audio moderation
Audio wave forms require a change in your CORS policy on media and a change in your Cinder instances CSP. Please reach out to Customer Experience for enablement.
